Filming Blog 1

Today, on 10/4/2021, my group filmed our commercial. Me and my group didn't have our storyboard complete though. It took us about 15 minutes to finish it, allowing us to go film. As our storyboard says, the group originally intended to make a Gatorade commercial using a soccer ball, field, and goal. This didn't work out, however. There were no soccer goals on campus, despite there being a field and the group bringing a soccer ball. My group and I had to improvise, walking around campus searching for a good place to film our backup plan (This was to have the subject run stairs whilst drinking Gatorade). I was the cameraman, and filming took about 40 minutes. I proposed multiple shots, only some of which were filmed. The shots included a high angle, closeup, and tracking shot. The majority of them will not make it into the commercial, as our group will edit the best ones together. I filmed the subject running slowly, then drinking Gatorade. Me and my group then shot one of the two variants of the subject performing better: A high angle shot. Filming was completed with a final closeup of the subject drinking Gatorade again, intended to transition into the Gatorade logo. The group went back to the classroom and I went over the footage to see if filming was complete. A group member left to assist another group with filming. A red 32 oz Gatorade bottle was used as the main prop, as the group no longer had use for the soccer ball. The Gatorade is pictured below.
